Many of us associate wainscoting as a finishing element in apartments during the PRL times - overwhelming walls faced with orange-tinted wood, covered with clear varnish. Fortunately, this is a thing of the past! Wainscoting has returned to favor and is doing very well - it impresses with its universality, completes the interior and is increasingly becoming an essential design element.

From installation to finishing
From which material to put wainscoting? The main choice is wood, but now in the form of modern veneer in the color of your choice. Nowadays, wood-based materials are also used, such as MDF, which we can varnish in any color. Technological possibilities of both materials allow us to make spacious cutters. Thanks to this variety of forms and colors, it is possible to match such paneling to both Scandinavian, classic or rustic style interiors.
How to arrange wainscoting? There are several ways to do it. If we care mainly about completing our interior, we should rather not use wainscoting throughout the room.
We choose a particular wall, which will allow us to highlight a particular plane. We finish it from floor to ceiling or in the form of paneling - in the lower part of the wall to a chosen height (usually about a meter).
Depending on the way it is installed and the color used, you can achieve a more wanted visual effect of the entire room and improve its proportions, for example, make it appear higher to us. The style of our interior will largely be determined by the choice of panel finishes - these can be simple smooth surfaces, soft milling or expressive geometric patterns.

"Wainscoting tricks"
QOOD.design tip: To create modern wainscoting, you can use furniture doors that relate in pattern or color to the interior. An almost unlimited palette of finishes, as well as dimensions, will allow you to create the perfect wainscoting for the space you want to fill with it.
Advantages of modern wainscoting
The use of wainscoting in an interior gives it an interesting and original character, acts as a stylish decoration. In addition, it warms the room and makes it cozy. Of the more practical advantages - it is an effective way to hide wall imperfections. It will also work well in areas exposed to possible dirt or damage.
Interior wainscoting arrangement
Wainscoting will give a background in practically every room of our house or apartment. In the hallway, it will find practical use as a protection of our wall from dirt in place of a coat hanger or a shoe shelf, while decorating the hallway. In the living room, it can take up a place as a stunning decoration of the wall behind the TV or sofa. The paneling pattern in the form of vertical stripes will also be suitable for the doors of kitchen cabinets. In the bedroom, it will decorate the wall behind the bed by filling its entire surface or creating a paneling.
With the suitable materials, wainscoting will become an alternative to tiles in our bathroom, making its interior more cozy. When designing or changing your interior, give it consistency by using the same design in different rooms. When introducing modern wainscoting, let's suggest the finish and pattern of our furniture and the color scheme to match the whole.
Be inspired not only by wainscoting, but also by our furniture doors to create it in your space!
